Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado
Welcome to Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado! We provide meditation classes and teachings in the Buddhist tradition for all levels of interest throughout the Denver metro area, including Aurora, Capitol Hill, Colorado Springs, Lakewood, and Grand Junction.
KMC Colorado is open to everyone!
What We Do
KMC Colorado holds classes on meditation and Buddhism that are open to everyone in all walks of life and from any faith or background. You don’t have to be a Buddhist to learn how to meditate or to benefit from it. Thousands of people of all ages have enjoyed classes here since the Center was established 20 years ago.
Our practical, introductory classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, our branch classes, and our noontime meditations are all suitable for newcomers. Kids’ meditation classes take place on Sunday mornings, and KMC Colorado welcomes school and group visits throughout the year. We also hold regular day and weekend workshops and retreats, and study and meditation programs if you wish to to learn more about Buddhism and meditation. Daily meditations and prayers are held regularly throughout the week.
We are also regularly invited to give meditation classes at other locations, such as colleges, so please contact us if you are interested in a visiting teacher.
As well as being welcome to attend the meditation courses and retreats, you can also simply drop in to visit the center & bookstore.
Who We Are
KMC Colorado is located primarily in downtown Denver in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and is the mother center to the Kadampa centers in Colorado. Founded almost 20 years ago, KMC Colorado is part of a network of over a thousand Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Centers and branches world-wide. It is a non-profit organization established to provide people in Colorado with the opportunity to learn about and practice Buddha’s teachings as an effective way to solve our daily problems and discover our enormous capacity for inner peace and happiness.
KMC Colorado has arisen from the compassionate intention and vision of the internationally renowned Buddhist teacher and author Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and is dedicated to the happiness and freedom of every living being.
