Every year, NKT-IKBU organizes a world wide program of special courses on Buddhism and meditation that explain how to apply Buddha’s teachings (Dharma) to modern living. The program includes International Festivals, National Festivals and Regional Dharma Celebrations.
These Festivals and Dharma Celebrations provide a precious opportunity to study and practise the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
The events vary in length from two days to two weeks, but whatever their duration, they all offer a vacation with a difference – a chance to break free from the hectic routines of daily life and focus on the things that really matter. You will come away not only refreshed and relaxed but also spiritually re-energized.
US National Festivals and Dharma Celebrations
Each year the New Kadampa Tradition organizes a number of national and regional Dharma Celebrations. Taught by the National Spiritual Director of the country in which the event is held, Dharma Celebrations provide an opportunity to meet up with like-minded people in your area and enjoy empowerments and teachings from the senior Teachers of the tradition.
The US National Spring Festival is held at the beautiful Kadampa Temple in Glen Spey, NY every year in late April. The Southwest Dharma Celebration is usually held in August in Albuquerque, NM. Visit the celebration page to learn more and see galleries of photos.
Every year, thousands of Kadampa Buddhists from around the world, gather at International Kadampa Festivals. The International Festivals take place three times during the year: Spring, Summer and Fall Festivals. The Spring and Summer Festivals are always held at Manjushri Center in Ulverston, England. The Fall International Festival moves around the world and has been held in places such as: Brazil, France, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy these amazing opportunities to learn and practice with the most experienced teachers in the world, and spend time with our international spiritual community.
