What to Expect at a Class
Everyone is welcome!
Classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, as well as Happiness Hour, and branch classes typically begin with some introduction, and then the teacher guides a gentle, relaxing meditation that helps us to access our natural potential for inner peace, a clear mind, and happiness.
The teacher then gives a practical explanation of some aspect of Buddhist meditation and practice, sometimes followed up by another short meditation to take the teaching to heart so we are confident to apply it to our daily life.
Afterwards, if you have time, you are welcome to stay for refreshments — giving everyone the chance to hang out with each other and/or ask the teacher more questions.
Although the meditation classes are generally taught in different series, each class is self-contained, so you are free to attend any one.
Led by senior students at the center, lunchtime meditations are only half an hour, and consist of a short introduction and guided relaxing meditation.
Study programs offer a more in-depth study of Buddha’s meditations and teachings, taking you to the next level.
We frequently offer special introductory workshops, courses, and retreats over the weekend both downtown and in Cap Hill. We also hold classes in other locations throughout Colorado.
Having learned some methods for increasing our peace and happiness and improving the qualities of our mind, we can then continue to train in these meditations and special practices on our own. In this way, we will experience our mind gradually becoming more peaceful, our problems diminishing, and our relationships improving.
