Welcome to Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado!

Todos Bienvenidos!

Everybody Welcome

Kadampa Meditation Center Colorado is a place to learn and practice Buddhist meditation as a way to solve our daily problems, grow spiritually, enjoy community, and transform our world. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1999 and part of a worldwide network of over 1,300 Centers for modern Buddhism.

We’re glad you have found us and hope you find what you are looking for (and much more!) Everyone is welcome and warmly invited to try out any of the drop-in classes offered each week at our main center and branches. In these classes, we explore Buddha’s practical and enjoyable methods for cultivating deep inner peace and happiness.

We do not discriminate based on race, gender, background, age, religion, politics, sexual orientation, or otherwise — everyone is always welcome at KMC Colorado and the other Centers around the world. With inner peace, wisdom and compassion we can all make a better world now and for generations to come.

How to create satisfying relationships

Valentine’s Day 2023 at Rooted Heart with Kadam Lucy James

Tuesday, February 14

Valentine’s Day is all about love, but what actually is love? What if our very ideas and expectations about love and romance were contributing to our difficulties in finding satisfying partnerships, or making these really shine? The teachings of Buddha offer surprising methods that will transform our perspective on relationships, helping us to see why so many of our experiences have been painful, disappointing, or even damaging, how to stop making the same old mistakes, and how to transform all our friendships, romantic and otherwise.

Building Spiritual Courage

A special mini course with Kadam Lucy James

Saturday, February 25

We encounter all kinds of obstacles in our desire to improve ourselves, to overcome our negativities, and to make progress on the path to pure happiness. We therefore need to develop great confidence in our practice and in our ability to deal with adversity throughout our spiritual development. In this course we will learn different ways of relating to ourself, relating to the pure and limitless nature of our mind, rather than our limitations.

Transform Your Life

Tuesday, February 28 | Located at the Westward Gallery

In a world of so many pressures, it is comforting and essential to know that a simple meditation practice can bring immediate peace to our life. During this public talk and meditation with acclaimed Buddhist meditation teacher Kadam Lucy James you will learn basic meditation techniques that have been practiced for thousands of years, and effective methods for letting go of anxiety and cultivating joy.

Nyungnay Retreat: A purifying fasting retreat

April 14 & 15

Nyungnay is a special fasting and purification practice performed in conjunction with prostrations and prayers to Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. This is a very powerful method for purifying negativity of body, speech, and mind, and for pacifying delusions such as strong attachment and anger. It is also a special way of improving our minds of love, compassion, and receiving the compassionate blessings of Avalokiteshvara.
