Our retreat is set in the beautiful natural setting of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, providing both an outer AND inner escape -- an incredible experience for anyone looking to disconnect from the problems of daily life and a chance to deepen their inner peace and understanding.
You are invited to a 4-day meditation retreat in our beautiful Rocky Mountains in August – by that time, no doubt, a very welcome respite from the heat of the plains! This will be a relaxing, spiritual vacation to recharge your batteries and get you ready for the Fall and Winter, and you’ll leave with some insights that will help you for even longer. To enhance your experience of peace, there will be some periods of silence during this retreat.
During this retreat we will be practicing Buddhist meditation, which provides us not only with stress relief and a more manageable life but with the methods for developing universal compassion and insight into the true nature of reality. By practicing these we can use this life to attain incredible joy and freedom for both ourselves and others.
Buddha’s 84,000 teachings are included in Sutra and Tantra, and on this retreat we will be dipping into both. Sutra and Tantra are mutually supportive, providing a holistic, complete, and quick path to enlightenment. Kadam Lucy will explain how to practice these together, effectively and happily, in our daily meditations and in our daily lives; and she will base the retreat on instructions from this year’s International Kadampa Buddhist Festival in England. A leading expert in meditation, with years of retreat experience, she is known for making even the most profound subjects immensely practical and accessible to everyone.
